Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Pipelayer to join our team. As a Pipelayer, you will be responsible for laying and joining concrete, plastic, or cast-iron underground pipelines for various projects. This is a physically demanding role that requires experience in manual trenching as well as working with heavy equipment and knowledge of pipeline installation techniques.
Duties:
- Perform pipe laying and installation tasks according to project specifications
- Work with heavy equipment operators such as bulldozers, backhoes, and forklifts to excavate trenches and lift pipes
- Use pipe lasers to ensure proper alignment and grade of pipes
- Assist with utility locating to avoid damage to existing underground infrastructure
- Conduct concrete finishing around pipe joints and manholes
- Collaborate with the team to ensure efficient workflow and completion of projects on time
- Safely perform manual labor as well as assisting other trades to the extent necessary with hands-on work to complete the job.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work area
Skills:
- Proficient in working safely around heavy equipment, including bulldozers, backhoes, forklifts, etc.
- Experience with pipe laser technology for accurate pipe installation
- Knowledge of concrete finishing techniques for pipe joints and manholes
- Familiarity with utility locating methods to prevent damage to existing infrastructure
- Capable of properly measuring and cutting pipe to proper lengths using hand tools, electric saws, and gas powered saws
- Experience connecting pipe joints and properly sealing joints using various types of jointing methods
- Strong physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Expected hours: 40 – 70 per week

- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Weekends as needed
